if dist *and* conf exists, load dist then overload with changes from conf (just in case new options now exist in the dist)

Probably easier to handle when it comes to support too or trying to help someone you need to use the software and basically hold their hand in finding the option they're looking for. With the wiki you could simply link it, preferably with hashtag as a way of linking a specific option.
