Another solution would be if the core wrote to the config file, all of it if the file didn't exist, and if a config option is missing it would write it to the config file. Obviously that's not ideal either.

or if it just created empty file and u are supposed to add only those configs which u want to change but i can see that to be annoying

i wouldnt mind probably neither would u with our automated scripts to set up configs but for regular user thats some overhead

I agree. I mean, I wasn't disagreeing for you before for my sake since we can easily automate it in whatever way we want, I just know what the *average* user will do.
