I'm just trying to get it to deploy with portainer so it's not on my underlying os

so just do it in docker then ? nesting vm/container is pointless

Yea that's what portainer does, but haven't been able to get it to work with all the installation steps yet.

Docker is a good option but running it using your own container platform can be even more efficient (at least for me).
