well Microsoft doesn't lock you into C# .NET at all so I wouldn't really call it a monopoly

Maybe easy to learn for beginners, but python is at pretty much every company in some form. It's not like you just learn python to learn how to program, and then immediately are done with it.

Many successful orgs prefer only python, for example
