Pre-merged means you use the link bench included and build AzerothCore using that one instead of the official repo url. Otherwise it means adding the changes from the bots into your own fork of AzerothCore which is what I did but it's obviously not for beginners.

oh it requires you to recompile AC? I was hoping it is just a straight drop to the mod folder... lol

It's simple enough to use the link Bench sent instead of github.com/azerothcore/azerothcore-wotlk and the steps are exactly the same.
