Well on Linux you can build it and everything before even shutting it down and just shut it down for a few seconds. It's only Windows that's a complainer. Still, you could shut the server down, build the updates and start it back up.

even so, you could build it while it's running and when it fails because it can't create the binaries you could shut the server down and run build again and it'll simply do that.
