Hey, first time using this core, is it possible to change/tune boss/mob damage without scripting (e.g. just changing database values) or will I need to figure out where things are in the server, which values I have to change, and then rebuild?

Spell damage requires a bit more of work but for melee damage and health you use multipliers found in their creature_template entries in the DB

Spell requires either a spell_dbc entry or a dbc_override code like in SpellInfoCorrections

So just changing things in the database works here? I ask because the last core I used was cmangos and just changing database values didn't work with that.

Idk Cmangos should've worked as well unless you're talking about changing the calculations themselves

I'm trying to change the damage of everything on a specific boss encounter. Most importantly melee attacks, but the rest of it as well if possible.

You can however use a module for changes per map.

There's an "add a module" page in the wiki. The one you're looking for is mod-zone-difficulty. Assuming you're ok with % changes per map. Not individual encounters.
