How do you know I *didn't* test it on my own previously and got result that led to me having an incorrect belief (probably due to dns propagation)?

A regular domain is obviously a domain but a subdomain of that domain is regardless still a subdomain and the DNS-records are still behaving the same way.
I assumed you didn't test it because it's never failed before unless the user messed up their DNS settings which seems unlikely.
