If their .toc has the interface version of 30300, then they're built for 3.3.5. Anything else may or may not work, all depends

Very simple addons has a chance of working but the more complex ones will most likely not work as the API changes over time. The same can be said for addons from older versions.

We seriously need a note somewhere mentioning this issue. It's easy to add a module and compile it so the wiki clearly isn't the place to do it.

It would be an idea to cause cmake to stop if it detects -master or -main in the name of the folders.
