You are partially correct. If you leave DataDir as `.` you have to exclude the Data folder inside the bin folder and place the folders there directly. I'm including a screenshot of my setup so you see what I mean. I never understood why the choice of changing datadir is common practice. I get it if you're running multiple servers on the same system but if not, why do that extra step for no real reason?
