I agree. I'm working on a PR to simplify the docker builds/docker-compose set up

I'd say that Debian is a lot better than Ubuntu too but right now the limiting factor is a lack of built-in openssl 3.0 for those who truly believe it must be used. Debian 12 though will change that, obviously.

people should be able to run `git clone $AC_GIT_URL && cd azerothcore-wotlk && docker compose build && docker compose up -d` and it just works

yeah I mean the quality of the installation scripts and documentation of AC is just seriously next level compared to other cores. In some ways that is good but in other's it's like, ok, what did this all do, and now its working where is everything haha

the installation script is fantastic from a UX standpoint (and its probably good for development), but I think it should keep its hands off docker. The docker setup should follow common docker idioms

I agree, that would be nice for folks that want more control over their container environment

I think simplifying the docker setup will make it easier to support docker as well

I'm going to give a classic install a go so I have a better understanding of all the pieces, but I imagine its fundamentally similar to others like trinity etc. Look forward to your docker improvements

doing what I can. I expect a week or 2 longer.

good luck with trad deployment. After docker I'm probably going to try and tackle an ansible deploy. Feel free to post in here if you hit any issues with it
