Probably just by program hash.
Then again, Warden isn't detecting it, Scan.dll is. And Scan.dll is just a warming dll then notices certain bad programs you are running when you start WoW and it notifies you as a little warning to tell you to shut off the program or you may be banned.
That still doesn't answer what "Scan.dll.new" does?

Quote:Alright guys, check this out.
I have a fix.
Download this http://www.filedropper.com/scanfile
Extract it to your WoW folder
Replace and overwrite the 1 or 2 files already in your folder
The 2 new files "should" be marked as Read Only if you right click on them and go to properties.
And ta-da, there you go!
If you run into any problems, please let me know and I'll work something out.
This will make it so you don't have to delete Scan.dll all the time, or run a .bat file to delete it then start up WoW automatically.

Quote: iI just use a .bat persionally i modified the one that one guy posted
@echo off
del scan.dll
del scan.dll.new
WoWME.exe
@cls (or csl i dont know ,this isnt a copy paste)
works every time, prevents scan.dll from even getting made i think and just deletes the scan.dll.new every single time

You can edit Scan.dll or delete it, then you won't get the model edit fix notification. But WoW will check to see if Scan.dll has been altered or is missing and it will make Scan.dll.new then the next time you boot WoW it will remove that and remake the Scan.dll file.
As I found out a way to fix this, put an X at the beginning of the first line of Scan.dll and Scan.dll.new, then make Scan.dll and Scan.dll.new Read Only and WoW can't alter them or remake them.I've included a download for this, already done by me, in the original post up there, and a couple posts above this post.
