How badly behind am I with my current version? I'm thinking about starting to play again with my friends on my server and I managed with my limited technical skills to do the installation in addition to installing bunch of modules that no longer exist like any race any class module. Also have some tweaks like Shamans can play 2h enchantment shaman.
I have almost no memory how to go deep into this stuff again so I'm wondering if it's worth the effort again to go through it all for an update?

It looks like you're only a couple large DB versions behind, so I'd say updating wouldn't be an impossible task or anything

Also in case that I would want to run this server not from my computer anymore but maybe renting some other platform for it how easy would it be to move character "saves" to it. I know already that I should run the linux version right since those are better for server management. (It would be a small personal hell for me to learn that).

Well I'd recommend updating the server/DB on your computer and then transferring afterwards

Unless you made changes to the World DB, then those two are the ones you need to worry about

Things like module changes to the DBs can be re-done pretty easily, but any changes you yourself made would need to be carried over
