Alright so new problem. I'm stuck at this screen and can't seem to get any further when trying to login as root. I've also noticed that if I click the 'ok' button to login, I sometimes still get the error and sometimes I don't

Is the MySQL server actually running? I know for me, it was installed as a service that doesn't automatically start, so I start it by going into task manager -> services and finding it in the list

I see a 'MySQL', status of 'Running' if that's what I should be looking for

I'd say maybe try another SQL client program like HeidiSQL, but I'm not sure if that'll work or not
