Thank you. The documentation I've seen says staying with the same OS. It wasn't clear if it was Windows generally or specific to the build.

The process of switching to a different OS involves re-compiling. You can just re-use the database on both machines by loading a backup.

Backup your db and make sure you edit realm database and config files to match your new ip.
and you could try transfering core files also, im not sure but i was able to run repacks on most windows builds

If the switch is permanent , simply coping the files over isn't enough since you still need the ability to compile any updates. I do however always recommend saving the `.conf` files, no matter if it's a move from Windows to Windows or to Linux, along with the database for much easier setup.
