I'm not sure how hunter pets work since they don't return with full health, or at least they shouldn't, if you dismiss and call pet.

I'm not sure how it works in battlegrounds. When a player resurrects, they get set to full health and power. Keep in mind that Warlocks have to cast a spell to summon their pets so there's no chance of things affecting that.

I imagine if the hunter pet dies, it doesn't exist and current is false.

tru tho...but it intrigues me how hunter pets are allowed to gain max focus upon respawn yet warlocks have to either "find a better source" or deal with it...

Actually, no. Hunter pets are not defined within SUMMON_PET but rather HUNTER_PET, so it wouldn't affect them.
