I want to set my server so my friend who lives elsewhere can help me test it, as well as connect to the server on the same internal network on my pc. I have tried multiple settings, but here is the latest. In the realmlist table I have the external IP address that I got from ipchicken in the address field (9x.x.x.x). In the localAddress field I have the pc ip address (192.x.x.x) using x in place of the actual numbers for privacy. In the client realmlist on my pc I have set realmlist 192.x.x.x . The client is unable to connect. The server is showing AzerothCore at 9x.x.x.x:8085. I forwarded both the 8085 and the 3724 ports on my router for the server pc. Where am I going wrong?

https://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/
Use this to check, this should tell you if a remote client can connect

As for the local client, I'd say try keeping localAddress at 127.0.0.1 or whatever it is by default, and do the same with your client realmlist

As that field is looking for the IP of the worldserver responsible for the realm

I did try that but will try again. After I replaced that weird external address with the normal numbers it says it is open
