Can't see it being easy, constantly having to fix your server's code to work with a client that doesn't have any downloads available, besides whatever constantly increasing version the Blizzard launcher gives you.

There is currently no plans for AzerothCore to follow in TC's footsteps, though that could change in the future

well like the guy posted, that is a proxy server that will translate packets to be compatible with the servers and requires practically no change to the server code
