I would only worry about it if there's a large player base, but even then eh. I'd be more worried about ddos mitigation than anything.

My point is, there's no need to worry about some kind of hack to access your database etc.

If you are truly worried about it, regular backups (duh) and safety is key. Only use mysql users that can only be accessed from specific addresses and not from the outside even if someone could access the mysql server.

I guess it's mostly credentials account info I'm worried about, like if my players use the same password somewhere. I know it's their fault in the end but if I can prevent it from happening it would be nice you know

What you said is also true, it's highly unlikely that the account data will be stolen but even if it would be it's hashed and if users use the same password as anywhere else, weeell.
