Can I safely drop the World DB? Will a cmake rebuild it or will the server rebuild it on launch? I'm testing moving from manual SQL edits to the custom folder.

The server will re-import the tables and updates, yes. As long as the world database exists, that is.

Yes, it reads from .conf first and resorts to .dist if config options are missing in .conf or if the file is missing
