We did try and get a trial-twinking community going in RIFT for a while right at the beginning of that expansion though

mine was maid to get a boar pet and stand at like 80yrd shooting people looking sick in my tophat

Or I played as a bard in dungeons (and had to write my own addon to track all the buffs that class has)

Was nice getting to give feedback on RIFT's addon API while they were in the process of building it. It had some nice features that WoW's is missing, like having every function self documented, you call function.inspect and get a rundown of the arguments and returned values.
