I spent many hours trying to properly set up a DHCP server on a windows server machine, couldn't get it to work at all and didn't reroute the traffic - read a ton of different guides to understand how it worked - and just gave up. Took me like 30 minutes to do it in Linux and forward ports etc with zero issues.

Cross platform has done a lot. Dont have to keep recompiling every time your on a different Linux Flavour

yep Windows will gradually go the way of the Mainframe. Course at the same time its not the Go To Home PC OS. Till they break into that Market Mac and windows will still dominate
