Some private projects are able to afford to hire and properly pay a DEV/s...but they are just leeches, continuing as closed source even if they began with sunwell/azerothcore...it is sad. That's how it always was with the emulation scene. I won't name any, since i do not want to offend anyone etc...but the worst about this, some individuals even remove and butcher out every credits from the beginning of mangos/tc/swc/ac...but to answer your question, it should be paid properly and depending on the developer's location around 1,2-3k usd/eur...i was always wondering why not make a patreon for this instead of watching how private servers monetise stuff. EDIT: bountysource apparently is not enough motivational.

when i created bounty in 12 hours there was PR i guess its about price but i think u are speaking about bigger picture of bounties as model to source income for open source

Yup, it's all about the attitude. Years back when i still used to play i knew multiple devs doing complex fixes for free...they were just happy for providing values to the wow community. I mean, there still are some nowadays, but mostly busy with rl.

well times change ppl change wow is not mainstream thing and especially old expansions like wotlk pretty much only reason why are we still here is that newer exps are just way too complicated to deal with without proper team of professional devs

That's why we encourage people to play/work in ChromieCraft. The fixes are contributed directly to AC.
