Such a tree is perfectly shot through. Not even an LOS warning is displayed.
And everything is enabled in the settings (mmaps, vmaps, etc.)

I thought the maps were bad, so I extracted new ones, but it didn't get any better.

I wouldn't know but saying the settings doesn't work is just bad practice

Being able to shoot through trees is a thing in classic wow so I'm sure it's intentional
