i know on cata core got way more complex but i would expect that after 10 years there would be some good quality cata and mop cores but on the other hand ppl dont like it that much

Yeah, cata basically rewrote the rulebook - so to speak. There are plenty of people who enjoy cata and/or pandaria but people who actually develop cores for it to the point where it's decent all refuse to share that code so they don't further open source cores at all.

Yes, take a core that someone else developed - add your own changes to it - then claim it's yours. That's how it works.

well if u would take TC and fix all bugs then effectively its urs bcs u would rewrite half of it

It still wouldn't be. Just like whatever core Warmane is using is still not theirs because they took an open source project and add their changes on top of it.
