I have no idea but it's not something that's discussed much so I don't think it's in the pipeline yet.

Based on the TC commit to allow 3.0, it doesn't look like it's baked into *too* many files, but it would still be quite a job

The question that would pop up from my end is if it would mean that it would support only 3.0 since all distros I use still use 1.1 and it would be the reverse of what ubuntu 22 currently does

I think TC still supports 1.1, but I haven't looked in a bit

Well, I hope so. Ubuntu has always been more like a hobby OS so they seem to aim to use the latest stuff - where most other distros tend to stick to what is currently used the most and avoid rocking the chair too much.

I just uninstalled 3.0 and got 1.1.1 installed, fighting new errors though.
