Hey! I was wondering if anyone could help me out on something?
I'm trying to replicate how in the Classic WoW servers when you kill a mob who is capable of dropping grey weapon and armor. but when a specific mob can either spawn as level 5 or a 6, 10 or a 11 and etc. if the mob spawned as level 5, the grey gear the drop is set to the flimsy chain, ragged leather, frayed reference loot template id, and if they spawn as level 6, they instead drop from the loose chain, patchwork, worn leather and the first tier of grey weapons?
I have a suspicion that this is something that can be done with the conditions.

I know there's a condition that can check a players level but I'm not sure there is one that checks the creatures level

Currently I've just made a reference loot template for mobs that can spawns as a lvl 5 or a lvl 6 where I've just made a 50/50 chance that players roll on the ragged/flimsy/frayed reference loot template or the loose chain, patchwork, worn leather and grey weapons reference loot template.

Yeah, I'm sorry to say there's no way of doing what you're asking - at least not that I know of and I did check the wiki to make sure.

I did some testing on the TBC Classic server and it seems that the moment a mob is over a level threshold, they drop the grey gear reference loot template that is appropriate for the mobs level.

Take a look at the code, and the database, to see how they handle it. They may have features implemented that AC doesn't because it probably wasn't a thing in 3.3.5.

This is actually a feature that is recently being discussed of how to implement. It is a blizz-like feature that is currently handled incorrectly in all TC forks as far as I know. But I think there will be a solution in place soon! We just need to think of cleanest way to do it.
