Perhaps I should clarify something then. I'm trying to change the IP for a repack thats set to just run on the players PC that uses AzerothCore. The MySQL binaries and .dlls are in a folder under the repacks server directory. So I'm not sure how to get the address/user and pass for it. I'm assuming you have to start the server to access the db in this case?

I can't help you when talking about a repack because I have no idea how they have it all set up, not to mention repacks are honestly always a terrible idea.

In my case it works fine on my machine. It found it when looking for a good single player setup for running WoW. I have the mysql config file up.

Yes but repacks are not always safe, they can contain something bad. You also can't update the server if there are issues or such because you would have to wait for the person who made the repack to update it. It's so easy to compile it yourself, there's really no excuse for using a repack.

Look, I know next to zero about setting up servers and pretty much nothing for how to set up a server for wow clients. I was recommended this particular repack for the features it came with. I am however quite knowledgeable about system security and that's the least of my worries. The "no excuse" bit is that I don't particularly feel like spending 50+ man hours finding the modules like mob scaling or transmog online and then having to build the entire server myself. I was looking for a quick and simple thing. Thanks for showing me what I needed to do I guess. Didn't ask for the lecture.

Whelp, I changed the IP under the auth_db section. Still cant log into the realm on the other PC although it does see it.
