the least destructive thing i think you can do for yourself, and stay on the good side of everyone else, is to just recognize you have those few months of fucked up commits, don't worry too much about them and just dedicate yourself to not repeating it in the future

if you want to go even further and start requiring everyone here to publish everything under gplv2-or-later (even if that technically breaks your own project), i won't complain, as long as you understand that the choice is yours and not mine (and that i did not advise you to do so)

i don't think having good projects here requires us to have done absolutely everything correctly at every step along the way, my own project has fucked up multiple times in the past as well, as has mangos itself done a million times before

i hope you don't take this as some super-detrimental thing to have happened, the only files that _really_ went bad are those last 6 months, the rest of your project is largely fine
