i have doubts about the project on its way of testing and releases. can you be sure a commit doesn't break the code considering there are so many red crosses in commit history?

This just means the build was canceled because another commit took place before it had time to finish.

Every PR is tested before being merged but you can never be sure the master branch will *always* work.
