I haven't generated any separate include directories. So should I just have it point to the lib directory

on unix, look for a file with a .a extension or a .lib when pointing it to libraries preferably

I do have libssl.a and libcrypto.a files inside my lib directory

by default it points to .so so I can only imagine those are the ones you should point cmake to
