No, you can't use coroutines, because Eluna runs on the main WorldServer thread, so it'll freeze the players who are playing, and they'll get the impression that your server is “Lag”

So in my case, and in the case of many other developers with large scripts, having Eluna with LuaLanes or a MultiThread system is useful

I've just given you an example of a greedy script, but if you want I've got plenty, I've been working with Eluna for almost a decade and you quickly run into technical limitations due to performance, the more systems you add, the more checks you have to do, the more complicated it gets.
But you can do the test yourself, create an autolearn script and you'll see that while you're learning spells, you can't speak or cast any spells, because the main thread is waiting for Eluna to finish
