Eluna is a Lua scripting engine which provides an abstraction layer over the modular API / hooks that AC provides (and other cores). It's pretty powerful as it allows you to create scripts safely and easily without having to recompile your core constantly every time you need to adjust your code as it allows you to hot-reload Lua scripts. I believe Foe recently added multi-state so there are multiple Lua states (like per map states) instead of one single Lua state which is also more performant.

I'm sure <@169121237539356673> could give a better answer, but ultimately if you want to develop custom features for your server quickly I would recommend using Eluna

I have an idea for a server I want to create in the future and I would likely use Eluna instead of doing it all in C++ like I am doing at the moment

I just want to make factions more in depth and add some survival elements
