You can get boss states if the dungeon is entirely scripted with Lua

I don't understand eluna enough to make an educated comment on this, but I don't understand why can't we just expose some function to access the instancescript stuff

Primarily because it wouldn't make sense, you can't mix cpp and Lua properly, the AI's are different and an instance can only be scripted in either or
