we've added creature_template_model recently and it includes DisplayScale, is this meant to work identically to the scale in creature_template?

Yes, but per-model scale is nice.

right now i spawned a custom creature with a scale of 1 in the creature_template and 0.25 in the template_model table but it seems like the scale of 1 takes priority

As I haven't researched it I can only guess that they both affect it. The one in creature_template is global and the one in creature_template_model applies on top of that. I'm probably wrong though, looking at the code would tell you.

yea that would make the most sense, this recent update seems to have set all creature_template entires to a scale of 1 and transferred the scale data over to the new table

Yeah, might be as simple as it sets the scale from creature_template_model for the model and then multiplies it with the one from creature_template (or the other way around, idk).
