I think to answer the question the data format is designed for SQL. But it isn't using anything special within SQL (ie: not using any relationships). So you probably could rework things to store in a nosql solution.

I mean realistically they could be stored in XML files. You aren't dealing with constraints, FK's....
But all of the code is designed around calls to SQL and using that syntax.

`view the code for data insertion` is a very strange thing to say, sounds like they mean a GUI client which is exactly why I assumed it was that
