the .dist is supposed to get replaced, and you're supposed to make a copy and remove the .dist, making that a .conf, to which you make edits

If you havent changed anything in your core, the only file that gets re-generated is the dist file

The non-dist file its the one changed by you in the copy process and removal of dist ext

perhaps they have file extensions off and are only seeing the .conf part when its actually a .dist

I'm assuming they have a server that runs, so they have that step, otherwise the question would be why the server doesn't start :v

Server starts and everything, it works, I have my "auth.conf" and "world.conf", I also have "auth.conf.dist" and "world.conf.dist", correct

When I update the core or add a module and compile again, it generates a new world.dist file
