If you are using addons I'd suggest disabling them (client addons, not modules) and check if the client still hangs

By the way, sometimes I do have the feeling the client also has trouble with the fact that the ping is in fact 0 ms. So the client isn't all that great.

I have found the CPU load issue: ah-bot was hogging cycles, I made the auctions houses split (I had them shared before) so it was cycling trough three times as much stuff. I made them shared again and the load went down quite a bit.
