I may just have assumed incorrect stuff. My assumption was that the output of WPP will not be the packet output in hex, but neatly ordered sutff like: this is the guid, this is the flag field, this is the target guid etc etc. Am I wrong?

And I want to check that the emulator actually sends the guid that I expect it to and that I did not screw up the order in some way

Depends on the packet. Some are correctly structured in WPP, some may be incorrectly structured, and some may not be structured at all

I mean I would say just looking at the WPP structures themselves ia a better way of handling it than sending a packet through it
