I really doubt that any server would struggle with wintergrasp with the current implementation. Not more than any alterac or raid.

As for the scaling part. That image is simplified version, in reality you would probably have a lot of small areas, with the minimum length probably 2.5x of visibility distance. So probably something smaller than on this image. So you can have like 10 workers for a continent and in that case I believe the result should be much better than 66ms, unless all players are in the same area.

Well ultimately that's the fun thing, there isn't from my understanding a single server that uses this codebase that has a population big enough that would even see a benefit from any of the changes discussed. It's less of a necessity and more about a project for fun ultimately I suppose if one wished
