diffs as a metric, at least in terms of azerothcore isn't a good benchmark, as maps are updated in a odd staggered manner. diffs may look good but trade with responsiveness in certain operations. I don't agree with that tbh

it's not any one thing, at that level even if statements can be a considerable slowdown when there's a cache miss on branch conditions, I have seen significant measurable performance gains by reworking code to just remove conditional statements in tight loops

~65k objects taking 100ms. that's what? ~65 micoseconds on average per creature? for ai, movement, spells, etc

I don't know how hard it is, the otherwise one I'm aware that needs to working is the leash system to be similar to blizz like. But that I wouldn't place upon or recommend to anyone too
