but I might have to build a directory that would look like what you'd do on a more standard linux (like what I had to do when following the Debian 12 guide)

It would help if -c specified the config folder (like configs on Windows and etc on Linux) instead of just the authserver/worldserver.conf

Yes but it uses a variable set in cmake, the only exception is Windows
