Apparently the friends list, before real id, showed unknown too.

Is the mute system only enabled when the voice chat feature is enabled on the server side? I'm too lazy to reverse the client right now lol

I **think** the Unknown should be "Offline" instead. Some screenshots show the name of the character and Offline below it and some show Unknown but according to my research so far the Unknown thing is a bug and some say it's because the other player hasn't added you to their friendsl ist. Not sure.

I know of /ignore which does screen text chat, no idea on mute though

I'm trying to understand. There's so much dev talk coming out of you but what is actually happening? Making a new client? Making a new core? Both? What is going on.

That's not a definitive answer, but sure. I'm looking at NovusCore (Or NovusEngine as it's now called) and how long it takes to do something as bold as a new client and a new server core and thinking that there's no way you're doing that yourself because that would take so many years..
