They both share the same base, more or less the same networking code, same console implementation, same standard library, etc.

It would make sense to develop the emulator based on what we got for the client, but that's a big enough project with what needs to be done on the client side still.

I think we should be able to log into the game world soon enough, as map, doodads, wmo, character models rendering are all implemented already.

I believe animations are also working to some extent. Music comes next, I believe.
