Yes, however you should really try not to use set active unless it is absolutely necessary. In a perfect world, it should only be players that should activate grids.

Nah, nah, nah. I always preload grids and sets all as active. You're forgetting about the fact that creatures don't roam when they're not active. Imagine the rares in the world that walk using waypoints. They'll always stay in the same place if players aren't near. It's much better if they actually move constantly.

It's functional, not cosmetic, and also how it works on blizzards servers. It's not like it's performance heavy and needs a beast of a computer to do.
