but that will send that patch to client its just that this does it for u and it can update existing patch file instead of u having to handle it or having ton of them

Right I understand that. I mean that I would prefer to use an auto patcher and have that as a built in part of AC. That way I can setup patches server side to go out to "users" (not that I have many). But without a patch tool like that I don't plan on doing any changes that would require a client side change. (one of the players is my mother, who is in her 60's and not very saavy beyond basic Office products).

One problem I see, if I understood it right you as the server owner actually deliver the .exe file (that Blizzard downloader/updater) to be executed on the players machine.
Which I don't really like from a security perspective.
But, instead of disabling the signature check, we could maybe just create a new AC signature, and then provide "safe" exe files. I don't know how that works yet, might not be possible
