I think Bench is comparing it to running AzerothCore normally. You compile it using VS or what have you and run it. You have to install all those applications of course but there's not anything special.

That's fine, I'll just spin up 10+ containers and run them all on different OS's to test all that too. Not different distros, just separate systems I guess would be the better choice of word.

My concern is that yes, a typical Windows and even Linux install requires a bunch of dependencies, but those aren't exactly on the same level as this (again, if my understanding is correct.) From what I saw, it looked like most if not all of the actual cluster processes are just being offloaded onto TC9

Eh, I might as well start by minimizing the amount of systems used. I'll use 1 for each worldserver but keep those with a seriously low amount of load, basically all the others heh, on the same one for now. No reason to split them up yet.

That's true. However, on the other hand, integrating everything into the core would result in significant changes, making it not so easy to provide config that disables/enables clustering. And with this approach development process for regular (not cluster oriented) developers wouldn't change at all.
