well, you could have some small performance drawbacks, i think it's because sunwell guys commented out, but maybe you could use preprocessors to disable such logs if you don't need

logs should be async, at least on hard disk I/O , so shouldn't be performance issues on that aspect if you have async conf enabled on worldserver.conf

if you have a many logging functions on core heartbeat function for example, you can have an increased CPU usage
