what tool do you all use to modify/view .mpq files? I'm just curious.

Hmmm... need to check that out. I'm still very new to this, but I'm learning. Slow and steady.

client and server both need a copy of spell dbc changes. for the client you put the spell.dbc file inside an .mpq patch. for the server you can either put the spell.dbc inside the servers data/dbc folder or turn the spell.dbc into sql and put it in spell_dbc in the database.

Ugh, been working on this all day Thank you so much. As soon as I plopped a copy of the spell.dbc onto the server and started it up, the spell changes went into effect. No more dang 10 minute paladin blessings.

heres a trick I use: find an existing buff that does what you want and put it in spell_dbc, then modify the buff amount. for example [this](https://wotlkdb.com/?spell=24460) spell, change the 10% to a 200% and itll give you 30m blessings without a client patch
