Yeah i just removed the script attached to that npc since the smart ai seems to cover everything needed for the quest to work

Seems likely. I wasn't paying a lot of attention to the work on that, but 2025_07_12 and 2025_07_25 is when some of it was done that touched this NPC, and 2025_08_27_02 is where it was changed from a named script to SmartAI.
